Liminality is that threshold between one moment and another, and is even the "thin places" between earth and heaven. Think of liminality as that time when the Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years. They may be thinking, we’re out of Egypt, but what’s next? Or, Holy Week…the time between when Jesus entered Jerusalem and when Jesus was killed. In our services we regularly say, “Christ has died, Christ has risen, Christ will come again.” Those times between Christ’s death, his resurrection, and his coming again are all liminal times. Times for both faith and uncertainty. For us today, it’s the time between the things we feel comfortable with and know and the next thing that we feel comfortable and know. In liminal times, we are often very uncomfortable because at liminal times we’re not certain of what lies ahead for us as Children of God. Come explore liminality, and the thin veil of heaven with Stan Kerr!
