For six of these worship experiences, we have been on a journey through the Book of Revelation. Together we have stood before God's heavenly throne, listened to the songs of angels, witnessed the rise of beasts and empires, wrestled with difficult visions, and discovered that Revelation is not a book meant to fill us with fear, but with hope. Throughout this series we have learned that Revelation is not ultimately about predicting the future. It is about revealing Jesus Christ, the Lamb who reigns, the King who overcomes evil, and the One who holds history in his hands. This week, we arrive at the final chapters of the Bible. And surprisingly, the story does not end with us escaping earth to go to heaven. Instead, John sees heaven coming to earth. He sees God making all things new. He sees a city filled with life, healing, and hope. Most importantly, he hears the promise that has been God's desire from the very beginning: "See, the home of God is among mortals. He will dwell with them."

As we conclude this series, may this final vision remind us that the last word of Scripture is not judgment, not fear, and not even death. The last word is hope.
