Volunteer

For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...

Mark 10:45

A church is nothing without it's volunteers. It is good to have a pastor, yes, but we need everybody in the church to build up the kingdom of God in the Cheney Community and beyond.
We offer multiple options to serve God and the people in our church, in the Cheney community and in the world through the United Methodist Church and the Pacific Northwest Conference.
Just have a look around on this part of the website.

Volunteer FAQ

How do I volunteer?

There are many options to serve in the church and outside the church in the Cheney Community.
Join us on Sunday to learn more about it or contact our Lay Leader through our church email address. The only thing you have to bring is passion!

How do I volunteer with music?

Music is a way to express your faith. Therefore we always look for people who have the talent of doing music. We have a Choir to sing in, a Bell Choir and even looking for people who are playing an instrument to build up a band. If you want to be part of a music team, contact our Music Director.
You will find the contact information under the staff site.

How do I volunteer with kids?

Kids are very important to us. Therefore we offer a Children's Church which we call "Sunday Expierence" every Sunday during worship. You can join this big team even though you never taught children's church. We also help you to find and pay for trainings. If every Sunday is too much, you can participate in our big summer event for kids: Vacation Bible School!

How do I volunteer with students?

Cheney UMC together with Cheney Congregational and the Episcopal Church supports the SEED Campus Ministry at Eastern Washington University. It is an LGBTQ+ affirming Ministry. We need helpers in many differently ways. Just contact our Pastor if you have a heart for our Eastern students and want to serve them.
