In this third Sunday of our journey through the Book of Revelation, the Lamb opens the seals! So far, John has shown us the risen Christ at the center of all reality and invited us into the heavenly throne room, where we discovered that true power belongs not to Caesar or any empire, but to God. And the one worthy to open God's scroll is not a conquering warrior, but a sacrificial Lamb. With this, Revelation turns to one of life's hardest questions: Why is there so much evil in the world? War. Violence. Greed. Disease. Death. The suffering that surrounds us and touches all of our lives. Yet Revelation is not a message of despair. It reminds us that even in the midst of history's darkness, the Lamb still reigns.
